Hillcrest Forest Neighborhood Association
Churchill Way Police Patrol

The Churchill Way Patrol is north of Forest Lane, west of Hillcrest Road, and is managed by our Association. For 10 years, until 12/31/2025, they were free to residents, funded at $100,000 per year by Alcuin School on Churchill Way as the outcome of our 2015 zoning negotiations with them.
Beginning January 1, 2026, the patrols will be resident-funded, the same as our 5 Star Patrol south of Forest Lane, and at the same price of $225 per year per household.
Starting in 2026, the patrols will be on weekdays by uniformed, armed off-duty Dallas Police in city police cars. Days and times will be random, typically in 4-hour shifts. The number of shifts per week will depend on resident participation. We expect at least 3 shifts a week and hopefully more.
If you live in the area shown on the map below, you can make a big contribution to neighborhood security by supporting the Churchill Way Patrol. Every dollar buys more patrol time. You can also increase the amount of your donation to add even more patrol hours.
The Dallas Police say that the patrols work by "deterrence". If a potential thief sees an police officer patrolling anywhere in the neighborhood, the thief leaves. They realize that we have a patrol, and they don't know where the officer will show up next, and it's not worth the risk. Even if the officer is 3 blocks from your home, the visible presence of the Dallas Police scares thieves out of our neighborhood.
